Pakistani batting star Babar Azam delivered a commanding performance in the Big Bash League (BBL), scoring a match-winning half-century to lead Sydney Sixers to a six-wicket victory over Melbourne Renegades.
Chasing a target of 165 runs, Babar Azam anchored the innings with an unbeaten 58 off 46 deliveries, displaying composure and class under pressure. His knock proved decisive as the Sixers comfortably reached the target. Joel Davies provided solid support at the other end, remaining not out on 34 runs.
Earlier, Melbourne Renegades posted 164 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted overs. Josh Brown top-scored for the Renegades with 43 runs, while Hassan Khan contributed 39 and Jack Fraser added 38 runs to the total.
However, the Renegades suffered a setback as wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan failed to make an impact, getting dismissed for just six runs.
